The time has come…
Tourism Australia is going digital!
The organisation is starting the transformation with their new website, which is designed to be more interactive for the ‘connected traveller’. Brilliant. Bring it on.
What I loved most about the article featured on AdNews last week, was what DT partner and strategy chief Tim Evans had to say about the transformation.
“The brief to us when we were appointed by Tourism Australia in 2013 was to create the best tourism website in the world. It quickly became apparent that we weren’t just building a website, we were building a new way for Tourism Australia to connect with its customers and a new way for it to provide value to all of the stakeholders… So rather than just making websites or advertisements it really did become about designing a new business model.”
If that doesn’t sum up the importance of digital marketing, then I don’t know what does…
Digital marketing is the modern forum for:
- connecting a brand or business with its consumers
- communicating and engaging with those consumers
- building deep and relevant relationships with them
- and ultimately, providing them value to those consumers
Digital marketing thrives off forward thinking. It is fast-paced, requires instant response, an open mind and a bit of TLC.
Investing in a digital marketing strategy, or model, is essential for a business to reach its full potential in the digital world.
Also… I love the new Tourism Australia website! Very user friendly, easy on the eye, and easy to navigate, even on mobile.
Suss it out and let me know what you think below!!

Just wondering what TLC is? And wow, I definitely agree, the website is beautiful! It’s how a tourist website should be – colourful with lots of pictures.

Thanks Meags! TLC means ‘tender loving care’… I just meant that it needs some looking after 🙂
I’m glad you agree, there are some amazing photos on there and they are encouraging people to upload their own. What a beautiful country we live in!
